翻译目的论视角下李白《春夜宴桃李园序》英译研究
On the English Translation of Li Bai's The Preface to Feasting in the Peach-plum Garden in Spring Night from the Perspective of Skopos theory

摘要
《春夜宴桃李园序》不仅展现了李白独特的诗人与酒仙形象,还体现了其深厚的文学造诣.对其英译的分析有助于丰富李白作品的研究,并促进中西文学与文化的交流.本研究以香港译家耿亮的英译本为例,探讨了翻译目的论在翻译实践中的应用,包括翻译策略的选择、文化意象的传递以及目的语读者的接受度等方面.研究发现,翻译目的论指导下的英译在忠实原文的基础上,通过归化与异化等策略,有效地实现了文化信息的传递和交际目的.然而,对某些具有深刻文化内涵的意象和典故,适当添加注释将有助于目的语读者更好地理解原文.
Abstract
The Preface to Feasting in the Peach-plum Garden in Spring Night not only showcases Li Bai's unique image as a poet and wine connoisseur but also embodies his profound literary accomplishments.An analysis of its English translation is conducive to enriching the research on Li Bai's works and promoting cultural and literary exchanges between China and the West.Taking the translation by Hong Kong translator Geng Liang as an example,this study explores the application of Skopos theory in translation practice,encompassing the selection of translation strategies,the conveyance of cultural imagery,and the acceptance by target language readers.It is found that,un-der the guidance of Skopos theory,the English translation effectively fulfills the purpose of cultural information transmission and communi-cation,while remaining faithful to the original text,through strategies such as domestication and foreignization.However,for certain cul-tural images and allusions with profound cultural connotations,appropriate annotations would facilitate a better understanding of the original text by target language readers.
