With the advancement of higher education,it has become imperative to prioritize the cultivation of teaching ability among applied undergraduate English major normal students.This paper delves into the current state of training for teaching ability among such students,examining it through the lenses of core competence,English learning activities,and information-based teaching.It identifies is-sues in educational concepts,teaching activities,and instructional methods.Consequently,it proposes corresponding strategies:(Ⅰ)Deepening the understanding of core competence-based instruction to reflect the educational essence of English teaching;(Ⅱ)Upholding an English learning activity-oriented approach to enhance the authenticity of English instruction;(Ⅲ)Integrating information-based in-structional methods to achieve intelligentization in English teaching.This paper primarily focuses on researching training for teaching ability among applied undergraduate English major normal students in colleges and universities with a view to enhancing their professional compe-tence and overall effectiveness in English instruction.
