Data-Driven Teaching for the Translation Course of TCM Based on a Corpus of TCM-English
The MTI(Master of Translation and Interpreting)program for Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)translation requires students to achieve a high proficiency in translating TCM-related literature.Studies indicate that translating TCM terminology is a signifi-cant challenge in TCM English translation teaching.To address this,the study plans to introduce a TCM English corpus into the MTI course,employing a data-driven teaching model.Comparative research data from pre-tests,mid-tests,and post-tests reveal that the TCM English corpus effectively assists in mastering the translation of professional terms,their meanings,and their abbreviations.This study offers insights into TCM English translation teaching,the development of a TCM English corpus,the suitability of data-driven learn-ing for different subjects,and the conditions necessary for its implementation.
