This study explores the necessity and effectiveness of teaching cultural knowledge via metaphor instructions.The findings indicate it can complement the shortcomings of existing cultural teaching modes.Firstly,it guides students to understand macro cultural phenomena from a micro linguistic perspective,promote a multidimensional understanding of cultural differences.Secondly,it stimulates students to transition from passive recipients of knowledge to active explorers and constructors,thereby enhancing their ability to address issues of cultural differences.The study offers an innovative perspective and method for teaching intercultural knowledge in intercultural communication course.
