功能对等理论视角下《活着》英译本的创造性翻译研究

摘要
文章基于奈达的功能对等理论,分析了白睿文在《活着》英译本中的创造性翻译.他通过意译、套译、增译等策略,在忠实于原文信息和文化内涵的同时,适应了目的语的表达习惯和文化特色,使目的语读者在情感和文化层面上与源语读者共鸣.文章将用实例展示译者在功能对等理论指导下,如何通过创造性翻译实现词汇、句法、篇章和文体层面的功能对等,并探讨其对翻译实践和跨文化交流的意义,以期为我国文化外宣翻译提供借鉴.
Abstract
This paper,based on Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory,analyzes the creative translation by Michael Berry in the English version of"To Live".Through strategies such as free translation,adaptation,and amplification,Berry maintains the fidelity to the original information and cultural connotations while adapting to the target language's expressions and cultural characteristics,which enables target language readers to resonate emotionally and culturally with the source text readers.The paper will use examples to illustrate how the translator achieves functional equivalence at lexical,syntactic,discourse,and stylistic levels under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory.It will also explore the significance of creative translation in translation practice and cross-cultural communication,aiming to provide valuable insights for the translation of Chinese cultural outreach.
