Writing ability is one of the basic language skills that college students must master and discourse cohesion plays an impor-tant role in writing.At present,there are various cohesion problems in college English writing,which leads to the stagnation of students'writing ability.Therefore,this article analyzes the application of cohesion theory proposed in English writing and gives corresponding sug-gestions for writing teaching and learning from the perspectives of teachers and students to increase their more attention to discourse coher-ence in writing.
