This article,grounded in the interpersonal pragmatic perspective,employs a quantitative analysis to delve into the usage characteristics of 18 high-frequency English epistemic stance adverbs sourced from the"Beijing Foreign Studies University English-Chi-nese Parallel Corpus".The research aims to uncover the unique interpersonal pragmatic functions of these adverbs in cross-linguistic com-munication.The findings reveal that these adverbs occur frequently,underscoring speakers'strong cognitive attitudes and stances,thereby enhancing the expressiveness of language.This article provides empirical evidence for precise transmission of stances and attitudes in cross-cultural communication,enriching research on English epistemic stance adverbs within the interpersonal pragmatic domain and offer-ing guidance for improving the efficiency and quality of cross-cultural communication.
