In the context of the rapid development of new media,media literacy and autonomous learning ability have become crucial elements in college students'English learning.This article investigates the relationship between media literacy and English autonomous learning ability among 170 English major undergraduates.Furthermore,the survey results found a significant positive correlation between students'media literacy and their English autonomous learning ability,indicating that these two factors complement each other in English major studies.Based on this,the article suggests that teachers incorporate media literacy education into their teaching and provide targeted guidance for autonomous learning.
