This article aims to investigate the current status of English learning motivation and autonomous learning ability among col-lege students.Through questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews,data was collected to analyze the motivational factors of college students towards English learning,as well as their autonomous learning behaviors and attitudes exhibited during the learning process,in order to understand their English learning motivation and autonomous learning ability level.The results show that currently college students'autonomous learning in English faces problems such as weak interest in learning,lack of effective autonomous learning guidance,and lack of personalized feedback.For the issues identified in this article,some improvement strategies and suggestions have been proposed.
