Research on language transfer within the framework of Chomsky's universal grammar and in the field of second language acquisition has provided much insight for the study of language transfer in third language acquisition(TLA),which promotes the rapid de-velopment of this research field in recent years.The article firstly gives a brief introduction on the models or hypotheses of the source(s)of syntactic transfer in TLA,then,relevant studies published in international journals during the period of 2014-2023 are reviewed by com-paring and analyzing them from multiple dimensions,finally,this article discusses the current problems in the study of the source(s)of syntactic transfer in TLA,and puts forward some suggestions for the future direction.
