This paper aims to explore the differences in the use of cohesion methods in college English writing.Through the in-depth analysis of the English composition of students of different levels,it is found that there is a significant difference between high level students and low level students in the use of cohesion means.High-level students tend to use rich vocabulary methods,such as vocabulary collocation and restatement,to enhance the coherence and fluency of the article,while low-level students rely more on grammar methods,such as reference and connection,despite their high frequency,the error rate is relatively high,showing their poor use.With the improve-ment of students'language level,the use of their cohesion means will gradually change from colloquial to more standardized and written ex-pression.
