目的论视角下林语堂《浮生六记》英译本成语翻译研究

摘要
成语是一种长期沿用的固定短语,其结构紧密、意思精辟,是中华传统文化的一大特色.因此,成语翻译不仅是语言的转换,更是文化的交流.《浮生六记》是清代沈复所著的自传体散文,文学价值较高,文中使用了大量成语,这给翻译工作带来了挑战.林语堂的英译本《浮生六记》译笔圆融,深受西方读者欢迎,这与翻译目的论有共通之处.文章旨在从目的论的阐释出发,结合新时代背景下文学翻译目的,通过对《浮生六记》英译本的成语翻译策略进行深入分析,旨在探讨如何在忠实于原文的同时满足目标语言文化需求,以促进更广泛的文化交流与认同.
Abstract
Chinese idioms are long-established fixed phrases with tight structure and clear meaning.They are a special feature of Chinese traditional culture.Therefore,idioms translation is not only a language conversion,but also a cultural exchange.Fu Sheng Liu Ji is an autobiographical prose written by Shen Fu in the Qing Dynasty.It has a high value in literary appreciation,including the use of many idioms,which has brought great challenges to translation.While Six Chapters of A Floating Life,the English version translated by Lin Yu-tang,has been well-received by western readers which reflects the similarity with skopos theory.Based on the interpretation of skopos the-ory and the purpose of literary translation in the new era,this paper is to conduct an in-depth analysis of the idiom translation strategies used in Six Chapters of A Floating Life.It seeks to examine how to balance fidelity to the original text with the needs of the target language culture,thereby facilitating broader cultural exchange and understanding.
