A Study on College English Teaching under the Guidance of Sociocultural Theory
Guided by the principles of sociocultural theory,this study explores its application in the design of college English course teaching.Currently,college English teaching in China faces numerous challenges.To address these challenges,this study proposes a teaching design framework based on sociocultural theory.This framework includes constructing a comprehensive course teaching goal sys-tem,implementing experiential teaching modes and task-based language teaching,creating diversified learning resources,and conducting blended teaching activities.Through these measures,the study aims to apply the core concepts of sociocultural theory,such as mediation,zone of proximal development,scaffolding,internalization,and activity theory,in practice.The goal is to provide new theoretical founda-tions and practical approaches for college English teaching in China.
