Exploration on the Reform Path of College English Vocabulary Teaching from the Perspective of Cognitive Semantics
Against the backdrop of national cultural revitalization and cross-cultural communication,English vocabulary teaching in universities is facing new challenges.Cognitive semantics,as a branch of cognitive linguistics,not only emphasizes that lexical semantics are the center of grammar,but also its semantic field theory,prototype category theory,and conceptual metaphor theory can help clarify semantic relationships,expand vocabulary thinking,enhance vocabulary comprehension ability,thereby improving teaching level and ef-fectiveness,and helping students correctly use vocabulary in different contexts.This article explores how to effectively carry out English vo-cabulary teaching based on cognitive semantic theory,in order to improve teaching effectiveness.
