Application of Schema Theory and Metacognitive Strategies to College English Listening
As the process of globalization accelerates,society is placing higher demands on the listening and speaking abilities of English talents.However,a wide range of studies show that the English listening ability of college students is still weak overall.The pur-pose of the study is to explore how to use Schema Theory and Metacognitive Strategies to improve the effectiveness of college English listen-ing course.On the one hand,teachers should get to know about students'existing knowledge schemas and supplement basic schemas on pronunciation.On the other hand,teachers should get insight into students'study approaches under the guidance of Metacognitive Strate-gies,and at the same time help students apply Planning Strategy,Monitoring Strategy and Regulatory Strategy to the three stages of listen-ing comprehension,so as to construct a new knowledge schema in an all-round way,and thus improve students'listening level.
