Reform of English Listening Teaching from a Metacognitive Perspective
Listening comprehension is not merely a passive process of receiving information;it also involves active thinking and en-gagement from the listener. However, traditional listening instruction often views listening as a passive skill with relatively uniform teaching methods that neglect the development of listening strategies and guidance in listening comprehension. To address this issue, the study rede-signed listening activities based on the Metacognitive Pedagogical Sequence proposed by Goh et.al.The goal is to foster students'metacog-nitive awareness and encourage their active participation in the listening process, thereby improving their listening abilities. This teaching model is expected to offer new insights for the reform of college English listening instruction.
