In recent years,outcome-based English courses have been widely implemented in China,and an increasing number of people have realized the role and significance of outcome-based English teaching in their teaching practice,which is not only conducive to the cultivation and improvement of English skills of students,but also beneficial to the students'better understanding of the advanced tech-nologies and researches at home and abroad.Built on the outcome-based education,this study tries to present an innovative approach to English teaching in independent colleges and analyzes the necessity of implementation of teaching,teaching strategies,and the selection of teaching modes and teaching materials,with the aim of providing a new way of teaching English courses in independent colleges.
