Analysis and Evaluation of Urban Road Network Connectivity——A Case Study of Residential Areas in Wuhan
As urbanization accelerates, the connectivity of urban road networks plays an increasingly important role in road infrastructure development and traffic efficiency. To evaluate road network connectivity and its relationship with POI data,a multidimensional connectivity index evaluation system was established. An empirical study was conducted in selected residential areas of Wuhan, where the connectivity of the road network was quantitatively analyzed, and the correlations between different connectivity indices and POI data were examined. The results indicate that the road network connectivity in Wuhan exhibits a spatial pattern of"high in the center and low in the periphery"with notable variations across regions.Furthermore, significant differences in the correlations between various connectivity indices and POI data were observed, highlighting the complexity of regional characteristics. This study provides theoretical insights into the relationship between urban development and road network connectivity, offering valuable references for improving urban traffic planning and decision-making.
