Research and Practice of Quality Evaluation Methods for Second Classroom Courses Based on the OBE Concept
This paper thoroughly draws on the pedagogical mechanisms and working systems of the first classroom teaching.Centered around achieving the goals of talent cultivation,it comprehensively designs the collaborative support of the first and second classrooms for graduation requirements. This is done with the goal-oriented approach to reverse-design the content, objectives, and assessment criteria of second classroom courses. The evaluation of students'participation in second classroom activities is based on the concept of course attainment.Direct assessment of course objectives is conducted using the"hours-credits"recorded in the second classroom transcript.Indirect assessment of course objectives is carried out based on students'self-assessment of their abilities. The evaluation results are then fed back into the design phase of second classroom activities, promoting continuous improvement to enhance the quality of the second classroom. This approach not only encourages students'active engagement in second classroom activities but also elevates the overall quality of these activities in higher education institutions.Furthermore, the experiences and methods outlined here can be valuable for other engineering disciplines within the institution, contributing significantly to the practical implementation of Outcome-Based Education(OBE)principles in engineering education.
