Study on the Influence Mechanism and Related Spillover Effect of Industrial Robot Application on Pollution and Carbon Reduction in Enterprises
The application of intelligent technology such as industrial robots is related to the transformation of enterprise production mode and the effectiveness of environmental governance,and is an important driving force for promoting the synergistic efficiency of enterprises'pollution and carbon reduction and high-quality economic development.This paper utilizes data from listed manufacturing firms from 2011-2022 to empirically investigate the influence mechanism of the application of intelligent technology on enterprises'pollution and carbon reduction,as well as related spillover effects.The research finds that the application of intelligent technology is conducive to promoting enterprises to reduce pollution and carbon emissions,and promote enterprises to achieve synergies in reducing pollution and carbon.The influence mechanism examinations reveal the application of intelligent technology enable abatement and mitigation via"incremental quality improvements"in corporate R&D and"cost reductions and efficiency gains"in operations.Both internal managerial environmental concern and external network media attention bolster pollution reduction from robot adoption without significantly affecting carbon reduction.Combined internal and external environmental concern notably improves pollution and carbon abatement from robot adoption.Further related spillover test shows that industrial intelligence promotes the horizontal correlation spillover effect between enterprises in the same region and the same industry,and promotes the pollution and carbon reduction in enterprises.Industrial robot applications have brought the vertical spillover effect of the industrial chain"upward spillover"and"downward spillover",which has promoted the pollution and carbon reduction in enterprises.This study enriches the research on the environmental governance effects of industrial robot application from the micro-enterprise level,deepens the research on the mechanism of industrial robot application affecting enterprises'pollution and carbon reduction and related spillover effects,and provides theoretical and policy inspiration for enterprises to promote green low-carbon transformation.
