Study on the Division of Surname Morphological Units and Spatial Pattern Evolution of a Typical Village in the Central Plains
This study combines Conzen morphology with the typical characteristics of the surname clan of the rural settlements in the Central Plains. It divides the rural surname morphology into units, establishes quantitative models and evaluation methods, analyzes the differences between rural morphology units, and studies the spatial patterns of rural areas. The research findings reveal that the developmental trajectory of major surname clans forms the primary spatial structure and breakthrough points in rural areas. In the case of Peicheng village, the rural space revolves around the core neighborhood of the Peng surname and expands in a concentric manner.Subsequently, rural conservation and management units are delineated to achieve precise conservation and management of the rural spatial patterns based on regional and typological divisions, facilitating the fine conservation and management of rural morphology.
