Practice and Thinking on Building Global Knowledge Pipeline for Innovative Cities:A Case Study of Nanjing Overseas Collaborative Innovation Centers
With the emergence of global innovation networks, innovative R&D activities are increasingly integrated. As the most concentrated hub of innovation capital in network organizations, innovative cities have become the main support carriers for the construction of global innovation networks. It is urgent and crucial for innovation cities to explore an effective path to gather innovation resources, participate in international innovative activities and deeply integrate into the global innovation chain.Taking Nanjing Overseas Collaborative Innovation Centers as an example, this paper, based on the global pipeline and local buzz theory, examines the status quo and challenges of Nanjing Overseas Collaborative Innovation Centers and explores the value of their establishment and operation modes for building a local-centered,point-to-surface global knowledge pipeline. This paper concludes that the"global pipeline"and"local buzz"of innovation resources in the global innovation network can be best gathered by building a"dumbbell"resource platform and a"one base with multi centers"model through the collaboration of entities at home and abroad.
