Research on Cluster Zoning and Preservation of Historical Village and Town Clusters from Regional Perspective:A Case Study of the Underdeveloped Areas of Chongqing
With the comprehensive promotion of China's rural revitalization strategy, the preservation of historical villages and towns has received more and more attention as the basic work for the implementation of rural cultural revitalization. At present, although the theory of urban and rural historical and cultural heritage preservation is becoming more and more perfect, the conventional isolated-point preservation model is difficult to solve the problem of protecting a large number of historical towns and villages in remote areas. From the regional perspective, the theoretical framework of cluster zoning of historic villages and towns is proposed on the basis of theories and practices related to the protection of historic villages and towns, which includes definitions, principles and tasks. For the key work of historical villages and towns cluster zoning, the study selects 72 historical villages and towns in underdeveloped areas of Chongqing as the empirical objects, and follows the technical path of"screening cluster centers-constructing the zoning system-identifying cluster characteristics",constructs zoning of seven major clusters and proposes adaptive protection countermeasures targeted at the weaknesses of villages and towns in the clusters from three dimensions of space, industry and culture.
