The International Practice of Gentrification,and Its Research Process,Characteristics and Prospects
Gentrification is the research frontier of multiple disciplines in the world.This paper mainly adopted the bibliometric analysis method to reveal the international practice of gentrification,and its research process and characteristics.The results show that:(1)after the first wave of gentrification shifts to the fifth wave of gentrification,gentrification around the whole world enters the adjustment period again due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and the"deglobalization"driven by populism;along with it,international research of gentrification goes through the stage of concept formation,buddingl,exploration in twists and turns,preliminary development,and rapid development,and then enters the adjustment period almost simultaneously;(2)international research of gentrification is led by foreign academic journals,and shows obvious attributes of geography,urban studies,environmental studies,regional and urban planning and other disciplines;(3)western developed countries take the lead in international research of gentrification,while in recent years China has gradually become a new force to promote it;(4)in the field,a number of cooperative teams have been initially formed,and some domestic scholars have introduced their research findings to the international stage.The study concludes by proposing priorities for future gentrification research.
