In China,research on urban system has always been guided by serving the national economy and social development,with a focus closely linked to the national development concept.Since the reform and opening up,China has successively implemented the concept of unbalanced development,coordinated development,and scientific development.In response,based on the introduction of relevant foreign theories and combined with China's specific practices,China's urban system research has basically established a research framework that has both Chinese characteristics and is basically in line with international standards.Referring to the historical development process of urban system research in China and based on the new development concept,the basic connotation of the Chinese style urban system is proposed.The next step is to strengthen research on innovative urban system,coordinated urban system,green urban system,open urban system and shared urban system.
