Recently,English courses have been widely provided in Chinese primary schools—even in some kindergartens.Never-theless,it is not necessary for children to study English as a second language as early as possible.This essay opposes this phenomenon by illustrating the following three reasons:the primary school students' lower efficiency,the inadequacy of the existing teaching re-sources in China and the misunderstanding and the improper application of the critical period hypothesis.
