The Deterioration of the Terrorism Situation and Counterterrorism Paths in Africa
In recent years,the resurgence of terrorist activities has accelerated,and Africa has become a"new core area"where terrorism is rampant,with the Sahel becoming the region most severely affected by terrorism in the world.The increasing rampage of terrorist forces in Africa is closely related to internal factors such as political instability,economic crisis,and border instability in many African countries.It is also inseparable from the external factors such as the adjustment of extraterritorial powers,religious and ethnic conflicts,and the Internet and social media.Facing the unfavorable environment of internal and external troubles,international and regional organizations need to deepen counterterrorism cooperation,bridge counterterrorism differences,and help African countries improve their anti-terrorism capabilities.African countries should continue to strengthen government governance,enhance both soft and hard measures in counter-terrorism,and strive to eliminate the threat of terrorism to maintain regional peace and stability.
