Competition among Major Countries in Key Biotechnology Fields
With the intensification of the great power game,biotechnology has become an important field of major country competition.Biotechnology is related to the changes in the balance of power between countries,and is increasingly of geopolitical and national security significance,and is related to the country's development plans and future.Biotechnology,especially key biotechnology,has important strategic value,economic efficiency,and high-tech convergence characteristics,so major countries are engaged in multidimensional competition in this field.However,the characteristics of biotechnology determine the non-zero sum nature of competition in this field,and its innovative development cannot be completely closed and exclusive.The development of major countries and their interrelationships have the conditions to surpass the fixed thinking set of"wane and wax"in this field,and achieve the highest goal of common health and prosperity for all people.Therefore,in the field of biotechnology,major countries can explore intersubjective competition paths under the guidance of the idea of inclusive competition,such as de-securitization of specific biotechnology fields,promoting mutual recognition of biotechnology rules,and expanding South-South biotechnology cooperation.
