In order to study the corrosion promotion activity of graphene,it is modified in insulation through loading nano SiO2 on its surface. The obtained silica/graphene materials are characterized by means of FT-IR,XPS,TEM and four-point probes, and are added into the waterborne epoxy resin to test the coating protection and physical properties.Work results reveal that embedding silica/graphene composites into anticorrosive coating greatly enhances its corrosion resistance and physical properties.Compared with pure waterborne epoxy resin coating, the coating embedded with silica/graphene has a decrease of 96.1%and 95.4%in oxygen transmission rate and water vapor transmission rate, respectively.Electrochemical measurement demonstrates that encapsulating graphene with nano SiO2 can shield its conductivity, thereby inhibiting its corrosion promotion activity.
