The latest research progress in the N-alkylation reaction between alcohols and amines in recent years is reviewed,the reaction characteristics over various single metal and composite metal catalytic systems are introduced,and the predicted mechanism of some new catalytic systems are analyzed.The bottlenecks that need to be solved in this field as well as the development directions in the future are proposed.
