A heat pump-assisted pressure swing distillation(PPSD)optimization process is proposed to address the high energy consumption issue in the traditional pressure swing distillation(PSD)technology in separating dichloromethane(DCM)-methanol(MeOH)mixtures,and the technological feasibility and economic benefits of the heat pump configuration are explored. The energy-saving and economic effects of the PPSD scheme are compared through combining curves and economic analysis. It is shown by the results that compared with traditional PSD process,PPSD process is able to reduce energy consumption by 29.96%,total annual cost(TAC)by 40.45%,as well as CO2 emission by 44.23%,demonstrating the superiority fully.
