A terbium-metal organic framework(Tb-MOF)is prepared via hydrothermal method, and applied for the recognition and detection of common amino acids. The effects of pH,organic solvent and interfering amino acids on the fluorescence intensity of Tb-MOF are investigated. It is shown that this solid Tb-MOF can stably exist in aqueous solution, and has excellent pH stability, solvent stability and luminescence stability. It is indicated from the fluorescence sensing test results that tryptophan can quench the fluorescence signal of Tb-MOF,and deliver the best quenching effect among thirteen kinds of common amino acids studied, with a quenching percentage of 79.0%,which is more than 30%higher than methionine(48.0%)that has the second fluorescence quenching effect among amino acids studied. The fluorescence quenching coefficient of tryptophan Ksv is 4.73×103 M-1.The detection limit of Tb-MOF for tryptophan is 0.100 8 µmoL·L-1,which can resist the interference of various other amino acids.Tryptophan can be recognized effectively by the naked eye by means of Tb-MOF,and the detection of tryptophan by Tb-MOF has low detection limit and good anti-interference ability.
