Preparation and performance study of CPS immobilized ionic liquid catalysts
Crosslinked polystyrene(CPS)resin is used as carrier to immobilize three kinds of ionic liquids respectively to prepare the catalysts for the conversion of CO2 and propylene oxide(PO)to propylene carbonate(PC)under unaided conditions. These catalysts are characterized by means of FT-IR,XPS,SEM,TG and 13C NMR,and their catalytic performances are compared. It is indicated that CPS-Imi/COOH shows the best catalytic activity, which is attributed to the strong polarizing ability of—COOH towards the C—O bond of PO through hydrogen bonding. The nucleophilic attack of Br-on PO is also an important factor for its easy ring opening.Influences of different reaction conditions on the conversion of PO and the selectivity of PC over CPS-Imi/COOH are evaluated.Under the reaction conditions of 110℃,2.5 MPa and 3 h,the conversion of PO reaches 95.8%,and the selectivity of PC is 98.8%.The catalysts still maintain good catalytic performance after 6 times of recycling.
