Based on VPDN technology to realize a set of Northwest Self-Observation Networking Service System(NWSONS)with the functions of meteorological information communication,data processing and service sharing.In order to realize the func-tion of collecting automatic observation data from each Northwest Regional Station,saving them locally,and encrypting the col-lected automatic observation data to be sent to the Northwest Regional Center for sharing with other users.Firstly,the advantages and roles of VPDN technology application in automatic observation data transmission are analyzed,and then the basic architecture and functions of the Northwest Self-Observation Networking System are described.
