Working characteristics of constant torque tools of PDC drill bit
The manufacturing of the spiral components for constant torque tools mainly relies on experience,which cannot guarantee their working performance in uneven formations.By analyzing the force acting on the spiral component,a differenti-al motion equation for the inner core of the constant torque tool was established.Simulation software was used to simulate and analyze the impact torque of different frequencies on the drill bit,and simulation analysis was carried out by changing the thread lead and thread pitch diameter of the spiral inner core.When the thread lead of the spiral component was 210 mm and 270 mm,the peak value at the bottom of the drill string was relatively small.When the thread lead was 210 mm,the torque change rate was 3.75%;when the thread lead was 270 mm,the torque change rate was negative 3.6%.The thread lead an-gle affected the magnitude of the starting torque;with the increase of the thread lead angle,the starting torque increased.When the thread lead angle was between 0.4 and 0.6,it had a significant impact on the torque deviation ratio.The research on the structural parameters and working characteristics of the constant torque tool has certain significance for the design and use of constant torque tools.
