Investigation and Analysis of Caries and Its Influencing Factors in 5-year-old Children in Multiple Inclusive Kindergartens in Jiangnan District,Nanning
Objective To investigate the caries of 5-year-old children and the influencing factors of caries in multiple inclusive kindergartens in Jiangnan district,Nanning,and hereby to provide evidence for caries prevention and treatment of children in multiple inclusive kindergartens.Methods Random sampling method was used to recruit 470 children aged 5 years old in multiple inclusive kindergartens in Jiangnan district of Nanning.Their caries conditions were examined by dentists and questionnaire survey were conducted for their parents.Results The caries prevalence of 5-year-old children was 78.3%,and mean dmft was 5.73±5.00.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the risk of caries among children with lower level educated mother was 2.260 times higher than those with high level educated mother(95%CI=1.429~3.574);The caries risk of children with taking sweet snack or drinks before bedtime was higher than children without these behaviors(OR=1.956,95%CI=1.140~3.357);children sleeping with bottle sugar liquid had higher caries risk when compared with children without this behavior(OR=4.526,95%CI=1.898~10.793).Conclusion Low education level of mother,taking sweet snack or drinks before bedtime,and sleeping with bottle sugar liquid are caries risk factors for the 5-year-old children in multivariate inclusive kindergartens in Jiangnan district of Nanning city.
