Analysis of the current status of oral health-related quality of life in elderly stroke patients at home and its influencing factors
Objective To investigate the level of oral health-related quality of life in elderly stroke patients living at home and analyze the influencing factors such as general information,FIM,and oral health behaviors. Methods From October 2022 to September 2023,a survey was conducted on 200 elderly stroke patients using a self-designed general information questionnaire,an oral health-related quality of life questionnaire, and an oral health behavior questionnaire for elderly stroke patients living at home.SPSS 25.0 statistical software was used to perform univariate and multivariate analyses of the current status of oral health-related quality of life. Results Univariate analysis showed that age, educational level, average monthly household income,FIM score, number of missing teeth, and place of residence affect the current status of oral health-related quality of life in elderly stroke patients living at home.Logistic regression analysis revealed that the risk factors for oral health-related quality of life in elderly stroke patients living at home were age 70~79 years, average monthly household income<3000 RMB,FIM score 19-53 points, education level≤junior high school, number of missing teeth>5,brushing teeth<2 times/day,not using the horizontal vibration brushing method, and dental visits ≤1 time/year.Conclusion The oral health-related quality of life of elderly stroke patients living at home is influenced by age, educational level, average monthly household income,FIM score, number of missing teeth, and patients'oral health behaviors, which can serve as a basis for implementing relevant intervention measures.
