Rapid Determination of Sulfur Dioxide in Chinese Medicinal Materials by Automatic Kjeldahl Nitrogen Determination Potentiometric Titration
The samples of Chinese medicinal materials were pretreated before distillation with an automatic Kjeldahl nitrogen determinator, and the sulfur dioxide content in the samples was titrated with a potentiometric titrator.Compared with the first method of 2331,Part IV of the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China(2020),the determination results showed no significant difference(P>0.05).The conditions such as the distillation time and the amount of water added for the rapid detection of sulfur dioxide in Chinese herbal medicine samples with Kjeldahl nitrogen determination instrument were determined through experiments. This method is simple, the experimental process only takes 8 to 10 minutes, the relative standard deviation is less than 1.01%,and the recovery rate of spiking is 95.3 to 101.8%.It is suitable for the detection of large quantities of Chinese herbal medicine samples.
