Comparison of the effects of two different orthodontic appliances applied in adolescent orthodontics
Objective:To Comparison of the effects of two different orthodontic appliances applied in adolescent orthodontics.Methods:98 adolescent orthodontic patients admitted from March 2021 to March 2023 were divided into invisible group(Invisible appliance)and traditional group(Fixed appliance). The orthodontic effect, oral function, oral cleanliness, inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid, and incidence of white spot lesionswere compared between groups. Results:There was no significant difference in the total effective rate of orthodontics between groups at 12 months after orthodontics(P>0.05).The masticatory efficiency, maximum bite force and bite rate in invisible group after orthodontics were higher than those in traditional group(P<0.05).The DI,PLI,TNF-α and IL-1β in invisible group were significantly lower than those in traditional group, and the incidence of white spot lesions was significantly lower in invisible group(4.08%)than that in traditional group(16.33%).Conclusion:Both invisible appliance and fixed appliance have good orthodontic effects, but invisible appliance has smaller influence on oral function, higher oral cleanliness, improved inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid, and lower incidence of white spot lesions.
