The application effect of vest type sputum expectorant and mechanical sputum expectorant in RICU patients
Objective:To Compare the effectiveness of vest type high-frequency vibration sputum expectorant and mechanical vibration sputum expectorant in patients with respiratory intensive care unit(RICU)inability to cough up sputum. Methods:The study compared the effects of vest style high-frequency vibration sputum evacuation and mechanical vibration sputum evacuation on 90 patients with weak cough admitted to RICU from April 2020 to March 2024.The respiratory, blood oxygen, sputum, and hospital stay indicators were observed 1-2 weeks before and after treatment. Results:After treatment, both groups of patients showed a decrease in respiratory rate and an increase in blood oxygen saturation, with the observation group having a higher blood oxygen saturation(P<0.05);The sputum output in the second week decreased compared to the first week(P<0.05);The total effective rate of respiratory sound improvement in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05);The hospitalization time of the observation group RICU was shorter than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both vest style and mechanical expectorants promote expectoration, but vest style significantly improves blood oxygen, respiratory sounds, and shortens hospitalization time..
