The Jidu marble deposit is located in the northern part of the Yanyuan-Lijiang passive con-tinental source of the Yangtze block.The structure is not well developed,the magmatic activity is strong,and the metamorphism is weak.Through the analysis of regional geological background and geological charac-teristics of the mining area,the geological characteristics and genesis of the deposit are determined.Two mar-ble ore bodies are delineated in the mining area.The ore-bearing strata are the Yangxin Formation of the Middle Permian.The ore body is large in scale and stable in thickness.Porcelain white marble,beige mar-ble and silver gray marble are developed.Combined with the metallogenic geological conditions and ore min-eral characteristics of the deposit,it is considered that the deposit belongs to marine chemical and biological sedimentary marble deposit,and the ore-bearing layer has great prospecting potential in the northeast exten-sion direction.
