Study on Process Mineralogy and Separation Performance of a Copper and Molybdenum Ore in Peru
In order to improve the utilization rate of a copper-molybdenum ore in Peru,a detailed pro-cess mineralogy study was carried out on the material composition and mineral occurrence state of the ore.The results show that the recoverable element Cu content in the ore is 0.65%,of which 96.92%of copper ex-ists in the form of sulfide, and the Mo content in the ore is 0.01%,of which 91.00%of molybdenum is molyb-denite.The copper minerals in the ore are unevenly embedded in medium-fine particles, molybdenite is evenly embedded in micro-fine particles, and pyrite is unevenly embedded in medium-coarse particles. The recommended beneficiation process is as follows:the mixed flotation operation of copper, molybdenum and sulfur is carried out under the condition of-0.075 mm 50%grinding fineness to comprehensively recover all metal sulfides including copper minerals, pyrite and molybdenite, and then the copper and sulfur separation operation is carried out on the mixed flotation concentrate to obtain copper concentrate 1 and sulfur concen-trate 1 products respectively. After that, the sulfur concentrate product was finely ground to-0.075 mm ac-counting for 65%,and the copper-sulfur separation operation was carried out again to obtain copper concen-trate 2 and final sulfur concentrate product. The copper concentrate 1 and copper concentrate 2 are mixed in-to a comprehensive copper concentrate product, and then the copper-molybdenum separation operation is carried out to obtain the final copper concentrate and molybdenum concentrate products.
