Metallogenic Mechanism and Prospecting Criteria of Midimo Iron-copper Deposit in Xinping,Yunnan
The Midimo iron-copper deposit is located in the triangle area of the Red River fault and the Luzhijiang fault, which is the product of tectonic-magma movement and metamorphism in different peri-ods.In order to explore the metallogenic regularity of the Midimo iron-copper deposit, the mineralization reg-ularity and ore-controlling factors are analyzed and summarized on the basis of summarizing the regional metallogenic background and geological characteristics of the deposit. The research shows that the early Pro-terozoic Dahongshan Group is exposed in the mining area, overlying the late Triassic caprock, and the over-all is a shallow-medium metamorphic sodium volcanic rock series,in which the Manganghe Formation of the Dahongshan Group is the main ore-bearing layer. The mining area inherits the regional tectonic-magmat-ic characteristics. The volcanic eruption center is the superposition part of volcanic gas-liquid and later hy-drothermal fluid. The thickness of volcanic rock gradually decreases from the eruption center to the outside, and the enrichment degree of the deposit also decreases. The Dahongshan Group rock series in the area has undergone shallow-moderate regional metamorphism. The metamorphic minerals are mainly hornblende,ep-idote,iron-lead garnet, biotite, etc.,and are accompanied by silicification, sericitization, electrical petro-chemical,albite and other surrounding rock alterations. The deposit has strict metallogenic specificity and is controlled by volcanic activity center,volcanic-eruption sedimentary cycle and geological structure.Adja-cent volcanic edifices, similar stratigraphic lithology and near-ore wall rock alteration can be used as favor-able prospecting indicators.
