Study on Waste Rock Transport Scheme of a Large Open-pit Mine in Africa
There are some problems in a large open pit mine in Africa, such as huge amount of waste rock, long distance of dump, steep terrain from stope to dump, and great variation of height difference. In order to seek an economic, safe, efficient waste rock transport scheme with less impact on the environment, based on the current advanced and mature mining transport technology, and drawing on the production and operation experience of large open pit mines at home and abroad, the feasibility of two schemes, namely, full automobile transport and automobile+crushing station+belt combined transport, are studied.Three lev-els of the equipment and infrastructure investment, production and operation, environmental protection are analyed quantitatively and comparatively analysis. The results show that the combined transportation scheme of automobile+crushing station+belt combined transport reduces the investment by 105 million yuan, the average operating cost is reduced by 47.295 million yuan, and the impact on the environment is less, which provides decision-making basis for mine construction and operation.
