The iron content in a copper tailings is 29.38%.Through the study of process mineralogy,it is found that these iron mainly exists in hematite and limonite, which have small particle size, feebly magnetism and complex embedding relation with some iron minerals. In order to economically and effective-ly recover these iron minerals, and in view of the problems of low recovery rate and low concentrate grade in the recovery process of this kind of iron-bearing minerals, beneficiation experiments are carried out.The test results show that under the conditions of roughing magnetic induction intensity of 1.6 T,grinding fine-ness of -0.074 mm78% for rough concentrate and cleaning magnetic induction intensity of 1.0 T,the iron concentrate with iron grade of 60.01% and iron recovery of 36.10% can be obtained by adopting the pro-cess flow of high intensity magnetic roughing-rough concentrate regrinding and re-concentration.The re-source reuse of the tailings was realized.
