Slope Angle Design of a Large Dump Considering Particle Size Distribution
The dump has the characteristics of complex composition, uneven particle size distribu-tion,large porosity and small cohesion, which is prone to landslide. Therefore, the particle size distribution of gravel soil on the slope of large dump is investigated on site. The study finds that the content of large-size gravel gradually increases from the top to the bottom of the slope, accounting for 80.12%at the bottom of the slope, and the sorting of the particle size is significant, which determines the distribution characteristics of the mechanical properties of the lower part of the dump and the upper part.On this basis, through the study of the maximum slope angle allowed by the given slope height,it is concluded that the slope stability coeffi-cient decreases gradually with the increase of slope angle, and there is an approximate linear relationship between the two. Finally, the maximum allowable slope angle of 180 m slope height is 30°.The research pro-vides a basis for the design of the dump.
