Sedimentary Characteristics and Ore Control of Wangjiayuan Phosphate Deposit in Central Guizhou Province
The sedimentary phosphate deposit in the Doushantuo Period in central Guizhou Province is a typical example of large-scale phosphogenesis events globally. However, the connection between sedi-mentary paleogeography and mineralization remains unclear.Taking Wangjiayuan phosphate deposit as the research object, the lithofacies paleogeography,ore-controlling characteristics, metallogenic model and prospecting rule of Doushantuo Stage are dissected deeply on the basis of the study of geological characteris-tics of ore beds. The study shows that the first member of Doushantuo Formation corresponds to the beginning of transgression, forming a set of rock association dominated by dolomite. In the early stage of sedimenta-tion,the second member of Doushantuo Formation is enlarged by sea encroachment and a large scale accu-mulation of phosphorus-rich seawater, which caused the sediments on the shoals to change into phosphorite and the deposition of a deposit is began. The third member of Doushantuo Formation represents a short and small scale regressive event, with the weakening of hydrodynamic conditions and the gradual reduction of phosphorus in seawater. After the short retrograde and depositional discontinuous in the middle and late peri-od of Doushantuo Formation,a higher level of dissolved phosphorus transgression occurred, and a larger scale b deposit is formed in the fourth member of Doushantuo Formation.
