Application of Natural Gamma Logging of Coal Field in Sandstone Type Uranium Exploration
With the development of the idea of"coal and uranium exploration",the application of borehole logging data has become the key research object in the initial stage of sandstone uranium explora-tion,especially the application and research of natural gamma logging curve.Based on the coal drilling data in the Heishui area of Pingzhuang Basin, the correlation between the radioactive element content of rocks and the natural gamma radiation intensity is used to select the abnormal natural gamma drilling holes,delim-it the uranium abnormal areas, and select the coal drilling holes with large natural gamma value and thick anomaly for preliminary uranium drilling verification, which indicates that the natural gamma logging data of coal drilling can delineate the uranium anomaly area in the exploration of sandstone type uranium deposits. The results show that the abnormal value of natural gamma is positively correlated with the abnormal value of radioactive quantitative gamma, and the intensity of natural gamma is proportional to the content of uranium. The natural gamma logging curve has a good consistency with the radioactive geophysical recording curve of the core. The natural gamma logging data of coal field drilling can be used to define the uranium abnormal ar-ea in the exploration of sandstone-type uranium ore and provided an important indication in deployment of exploration work.
