Flotation Test Study on Reducing Silicon Grade of High Sulfur Iron Ore in a Certain Mine
Excessive silicon content in pyrite will affect the melting temperature of ore and the fluidity of slurry, and even affect the hardness of slag and increase the difficulty of slag recovery. In order to reduce the silicon content of sulfur concentrate in a mine, the flotation experiment is carried out by using isoamyl xanthate as collector and pine oil as foaming agent. The silicon grade of pyrite primary ore and its rough con-centrate is reduced from 7.06%and 5.9%to 2.24%and 0.56%respectively.After adding sodium silicate as regulator, the recovery rate of concentrate silicon increases slightly, and the recovery rate of concentrate py-rite metal increases greatly. Therefore, sodium silicate can be selected as a regulator. The test results can provide a reference for the silicon reduction of the pyrite.
