Study on Process Mineralogy of a Low-grade Molybdenum Ore in Henan
A refractory low-grade molybdenum ore in Henan is associated with scheelite and contains a small amount of chalcopyrite. In order to solve the problem of low beneficiation index of molybdenum, tungsten and copper and realize the comprehensive recovery of other useful minerals, the process mineralo-gy of the molybdenum ore was studied by chemical analysis, microscopic analysis and MLA analysis. The re-sults show that the recyclable elements Mo,WO3,Cu,Fe grade in the ore are 0.086%,0.108%,0.019%,10.57%,and molybdenum, tungsten, copper and iron are mainly in the form of molybdenite, scheelite, chalcopyrite and magnetite respectively.Molybdenite, scheelite, copper and magnetite are disseminated in complex relationships, with uneven particle size distribution, and are often connected or wrapped with other useful minerals and gangues. Some molybdenite is associated with scheelite or wrapped with scheelite,result-ing in low recovery of molybdenum. The content of-0.01 mm fraction in copper minerals is as high as 33.53%,this part of copper is difficult to dissociate during the grinding process, and it is easy to lose in the tailings, which has a negative impact on the copper recovery rate. The total dissociation degree of molybde-nite,scheelite,copper and magnetite in molybdenum flotation slurry is 94.06%,89.33%,86.15%,89.58%respectively.The dissociation degree of scheelite, copper minerals and magnetite is low, resulting in unsatis-factory beneficiation indexes.
